about MNfashion

Mission Statement:
MNfashion is dedicated to providing resources and professional development allowing designers to establish a sustainable livelihood in Minnesota. In doing this, we foster community and create a thriving, sustainable local fashion industry.

MNfashion started as an annual event- Voltage: Fashion Amplified, and grew to include Voltage Fashion Weekend and MNfashion Weekend (now MNfashion Week) as a response to the need for greater connection and industry development for independent fashion design in the Twin Cities.

We received our first grant from the Pohlad Foundation in November 2008 to open a temporary holiday boutique in downtown Minneapolis and to develop our strategic plan.  We are currently developing the organization side of MNfashion to best support the community.  Membership and volunteer opportunities will be available this spring.  We greatly look forward to meeting you.
