Unveiled Tonight: 13 Little Black Dresses
In 1926, Vogue magazine likened Chanel’s little black dress to a Model T Ford: Versatile and universally popular. The LBD has been a closet staple ever since. Join 13 of the top local apparel designers as they celebrate the LBD in all its glory at this cocktail party held in Jon Oulman’s new venue, Amsterdam Bar and Hall. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Each designer will showcase their version of fashion’s holy grail in a runway segment at 8:30 p.m. The designers featured tonight are Max Lohrbach, Maritza Ramirez, Danielle Everine, Ivan Idland, Raul Osorio, Sarah Holm, Amanda Christine, George Moskal, Laura Fulk, Jenny Carle, Emma Berg, Jenn Bratvold and Nicole Larson. Come see how each designer’s take on the classic LBD and, in addition, each will show a look from a past collection (the alternative to the little black dress, the ALBD, if you will).
The event is free and open to the public (but must be 21 +). Validated parking is provided in the Lawson ramp and detailed directions are available here. We look forward to seeing you there!
Bright Society is Today!
Get ready for a unique fashion experience today at the Alexander Ramsey House. l’etoile will be hosting Bright Society, an event celebrating the fashion collection of the Historical Society, an exciting convergence of old and new.
There will be an informal presentation of looks from local designers Max Lohrbach, Samantha Rei, Russell Bourrienne, Danielle Everine, and Laura Fulk that draw inspiration from the Historical Society’s collection. Robyne Robinson will moderate a discussion with the designers, and Linda McShannock, textile curator for the Historical Society, will talk about her work and the collection.
Take advantage of this rare opportunity to see pieces from the Historical Society’s own collection, including items that have not been seen in over 10 years; as well as, a chance to explore the Alexander Ramsey House. Matthew Curney, of local band Spearz, will provide musical entertainment, while you sample hors d’oeuvre and specialty drinks from Prairie Vodka. Hope to see you there!
